Category: Software Date: 09-15-2005

The new computer science virus Zotob takes advantage of a failure in the operating system Windows and began to make the rounds by the Network.

It is a worm that develops its action from three critical errors that Microsoft spread the last week. One of them, in the navigating Internet Explorer, could allow that the attackers take control of the remote control of the computer.

Also it tries to block many of the most well-known surely related sites of computer science Internet, like the VirusTotal service of the Spanish company Hispasec. It tries to block sites of importance like Amazon, eBay or Paypal.

It can affect the computers that use different versions from Windows more quickly (95, 98, ME, NE, 2000 and XP) than other worms. Microsoft, on the other hand, assured that the worm only affects the users of Windows 2000.
